Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Helped me when I thought nothing could.

Taking control

Having got myself into debt ,the realisation of this was very stressful. Getting in touch with Stepchange was the best thing I could have done. They helped me set up a debt management plan which was manageable and affordable.Since 2023 my debts have been coming down near to finishing .I would say never be to ashamed to ask for help as Stepchange helped me and in the not so far future I will be totally debt free Reviewed on: 27th May 2026
