I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had bro...

I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had broken down , and I was left with a lot of debts so I owed about 16000, at the time, iv been able to put all my debts as one payment, so far iv payed just over 6,000 pounds in the last 5 years I'm glad I did turn to step change, they have helped me sort out my debts and now iv been able to sleep at night Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

StepChange totally helped me sort out my debts..

StepChange totally helped me sort out my debt problems and have been very helpful when I’ve not been able to make payments due to ill health. The only issue I have, is that according to some debtors, they haven’t been informed of these payment breaks, whether this is true or not, I have no idea, but it has caused one debt to be passed on a couple of times and me receiving unpleasant letters in the post, threatening to send people to my home. Time to get debt free!

StepChange have been excellent from setting up my plan, supporting me through illness and needing to pause payments, and advising me how to contact creditors etc. I am now around a year away from being debt free and can’t wait. Smooth process and helpful advice

I accrued a lot of debt after an injury and it got sent to myriad debt collection agencies. I have tried to manage it myself and it was overwhelming. I'm on a debt management plan now and less drama. I have used Stepchange website a lot to help in making changes and contacting creditors. Just need the cost of living to go down a bit so I can get debt free quicker! Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

StepChange has provided a crucial lifeline to me. The advisers are all very friendly, efficient , knowledgeable and above all sympathetic. Even in the darkest moments they have proved to be a guiding light when all seems lost. They are genuinely an Emergency Service and essential - especially in these very turbulent times. Honestly cannot praise Stepchange enough.

Honestly cannot praise Stepchange enough. Like many others I was in a hole sinking hard and fast that I just couldn’t get out of. I was stressed all the time, dreading the sound of my letterbox going knowing it was going to be yet another debt letter. Stepchange have helped me seriously improve my whole life, I’m paying my debts off at an affordable rate each month, I sleep better, I’m not stressed anymore and I’m just generally happier.
