I was ashamed of my spiralling debt after an abusive marriage I got into huge amount of debt. I didn't realise how poor my mental health was and I was spending irresponsibly. I was drowning each month trying to pay my debts but the interest was adding up and I couldn't cope and that's when I plucked up the courage to contact stepchange. Very helpful. Calms the nerves.

StepChange were very helpful and patient throughout the whole process, from informing me about the options available to me and their suitability for my circumstances to form completion and instructions on how to address issues with county courts. The process from start to finish is simple and straightforward and the addition of them implementing a period of breathing space also contribituted to easing any immediate worries that I had.
