Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Can’t recommend them enough. Top team!

After getting myself in to a ridiculous amount of debt, I knew I had to do something. I googled Stepchange after seeing them as a free advice service. I filled out the income and expenditure form and sent it off. They worked out what I could comfortably pay and were non-judgmental. I now receive no calls from any of my creditors, just occasional letters, which have to be issued as standard to satisfy FCA rules. All in all, they have taken the stress out of everything and I can’t thank them enough for their help in getting me back in to a good place. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Excellent communication and outcome.

Excellent communication and outcome. Removed worry and debt collection problems. Stopped interest building up and advised on the amount of monthly payment to make without it becoming a burden. I would recommend anyone with debt problems to contact Step Change. They do not judge, and are an immediate help. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Stepchange have been amazing, they have helped me to get control of things have have supported me through every step. They are quick to respond to messages and answer any concerns or questions you may have. They also NEVER make you feel ashamed and just want to help you get back on your feet! Great experience with step change, really helped me...

Great experience with step change, really helped me out of a very difficult situation and allowed me to sleep at night , easy to see how my debt was going down each month and was able to budget my finances in an affordable way .Step change handled every thing for me in a kind and sympathetic manner .It has helped me become debt free over time .Excellent thankyou so much .I highly recommend them if you are struggling.
