I had quite a lot of dept and since my stroke I had been unable to work and the debts where piling up. I contacted stepchange who helped me do an income and expenditure firm and suggested a debt management plan. I was so relieved a big burden had been lifted off my head and agreed an affordable monthly payment. I make an affordable monthly payment to Step change and they make the payments to my creditors. Light at the end of the tunnel

I was at the point of loosing my mortgage and home as needed to provide food and bills it was so hard.Then I called step change they guided me through every step and felt like I had a life again and could keep the roof over our heads. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Life changing, if struggling with debt repayments.

Quite a while ago I was struggling very much with debt, after losing my job, and the bills, debt repayments, and general everyday costs were piling up, and I honestly thought there was no way out of that horrible nightmarish situation. Then we were advised to try Stepchange, who are free to use, and they sorted us out with a repayment plan we could afford. They contacted those we owed money to, and they stopped charging interest on the debts and stopped the threatening letters. We do a yearly review with them, to keep everything straight. We are now quite close to paying everything off, and I would recommend Stepchange to anyone struggling to keep their heads above financial water. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Soon to be debt free.

I am in the final months from being debt free. At the beginning of my journey I could have lost my family and my house - a hopeless situation but with the support of Stepchange and I have thankfully maintained both. When creditors were constantly harassing me I was able to say I have set up a plan with Stepchange which gave me the breathing space to move forward. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026
