A friend told me about step change I was so worried about my dept paying out more than I could I wouldn't no what I would of done without there help its Excellent service allows me to carry on without that worry . Reviewed on: 27th May 2025

Face the fear, it really is the best thing to do

When take I was very upset, I’d separated from my husband and was in debt from financial abuse (although I hadn’t recognised that at that point), and I was terrified I’d lose my family home. The lady I spoke to was so patient, calm and reassuring with me. She didn’t judge me and listened to me and guided me very well. The DMP helped me take back control and develop a better relationship with money, I have only 1 year left on my DMP and i am so proud of myself that I faced my debt and dealt with it straight away before it became any worse. I have been mostly very happy with the service I have had. They certainly helped me get out of a great big hole I had dug for myself.! They have also been very discreet which has been invaluable as no one else has been aware of my problem. The only thing that I have been a bit concerned about is the fact that I have had notifications from a couple of companies that have informed me that I still owe them money. I have explained that Step Change had dealt with all of that and that my file has been closed by them but they are still sending me letters so I will be offering to pay them off a bit at a time.
