Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

StepChange have been wonderful.

StepChange have been wonderful. Before entering into my debt management plan I was seriously worried. However, after contacting them, and their system deciding that a DMP was best for me I pay manageable chunks each month and slowly but surely my debts have been coming down. Hopefully if I can ever rid myself of this flooring chronic fatigue I'll be able to pay back my card people much earlier, but with chronic illness I just can't work and StepChange saved the day. After years of worry.

After years of worry. We bit the bullet and contacted step change. In fact we contacted them twice as the first time we didn't continue. After back and forth for a while we decided we needed to do something about our situation and we also needed to stop the spiral of debt "consolidation," which only got us in a worse position. Don't think about it, just do it, contact StepChange

After many, many nights of worrying and sleepless nights, I finally contacted StepChange and it was the BEST decision I made. My mind was put at rest immediately. They took over all of my debts for me, and sorted everything out with my creditors with ease. The tremendous amount of pressure that I was under, has now gone. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
