Being in debt is not nice for anyone and everyone I have spoken to at Stepchange has been very helpful and the most important thing to me is not feeling judged which I don’t by anyone at Stepchange they just want to help people. there is a light at the end of the tunnel

Started my debt plan when they were called consumer credit counselling service (CCCS). At that time I had chosen to bury my head in the sand and allow my debts to escalate around me. I then made the decision that I needed to act before I drowned in my debt, I’d looked at a few debt manage companies and eventually found at that time the CCCS (now Stepchange). My main decision for choosing my debt management plan with stepchange was that there was no fee to pay so that all my payment went to my creditors & that the monthly payments were manageable & I found that I could breathe, it was easy to set up my debt plan & their advice was extremely helpful. Moving forward doing my review each year was just as easy. I would encourage anyone who has debt problems to contact stepchange at the first opportunity so that you can start to clear your debts & more importantly start to breathe & live a normal life again without the worry of debts spiralling out of control. I can’t thank these guys enough. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Reviewed on: 2nd June 2024

i was scammed, frauded.

i owe money to a loan company but i did not borrow it the scammers did it and the police said it was fraud and the bank said it was fraud but the loan company said it was not fraud, i have police fraud phone number and same with my bank but i have to pay a very large sum of money back myself and step change helped me with a debt management plan. At a time when I was very, very low, StepChange were able to help me in a practical way in dealing with my debts. By producing a doable repayment programme from my personal income & expenditure, StepChange cleared a path for me to see, and believe, that a future for me did indeed exist.
