Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Many years ago I had no where to turn marriage break...

Many years ago I had no where to turn marriage breakdown debts spiralling out of control borrowing more money to pay credit cards etc got in touch with yourselves worked out a budget I could afford & stuck to it had over 30k of debt it’s now down to less than 2k no interest to pay just a set amount that is distributed to pay off my debts Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Get rid of the Worry

Thankful and in good hands

I got breast cancer and had to stop work. I was stressed already and my financial situation was not good as I had anticipated I would work for many years. I found Step Change and immediately my worry was shared with people who gave me hope. I followed their advice and have now paid off a huge chunk of my debts. Cannot thank them enough. Saved me
