Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Needed to consolidate all my financial issues into one lump sum, great at helping budget but still getting constant emails and phone calls months after setting up DMP with response from Stepchange just let them contact you and when they send to debt collectors it will be off your file in 6 years. I was and still am desperate to get back into a good financial state that's why I chose a DMP but obviously I've had to contact my creditors with the info. Reviewed on: 7th June 2025
