Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

The dark days are over

I was struggling financially and had got myself into a real mess. I told no one as I was so ashamed. That much I was thinking horrible thoughts. I had everything going for me then it all started through gambling. Stepchange really did change my whole input on life and helped me get through the most traumatic time ever. StepChange changed my life!

StepChange changed my life! I contacted them when my marraige broke down and I didn't know how to cope with all the debt we had accumulated in my name (foolish I know in hindsight.) They were helpful and calming, and understanding. There have been frustrations over the years, as I changed my name and creditors wouldn't accept it, but StepChange as an organisation and the individuals were so supportive and helpful.
