Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I am extremely grateful to StepChange for their help and support over the last few years, my debts had become totally unmanageable and I was desperate to find a solution. They were very understanding and set up a repayment plan that has been very effective and has helped me enormously to get back on my feet again. I highly recommend them can't thank them enough. All my anxiety and worry went after I contacted Step change. I have had DMP in place for a long time with not much left to go. It really has helped me so much. Stepchange got me breathing again

Stepchange helped me breathe again. I was at an all time low, depressed and struggling to cope. Stepchange took one of the big burdens off my chest by negotiating repayments with all my lenders. And they didn't just stop there. When I had to leave my job and find a new one that paid less, they helped me review my budget and reassessed my payments. Throughout my dealings with Stepchange, they have been always professional as well as caring. They genuinely understood my distress and helped me visualise a future where i would be debt free.
