Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I didn’t know where to start with my debt, so I called StepChange. They put a plan in place, took control of that & eased my debt worries. They reduced my payments massively to reflect what I could afford. Would strongly recommend contacting them… Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Customer service is always fantastic, difficult to get through on the phone sometimes but I guess that’s a testament to how good they are - loads of people use them. Online platform is really easy to use, only thing I can suggest is maybe getting an app. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

We didn’t know where to turn but StepChange were amazing, so understanding, non-judgmental and sympathetic. Giving help and advice in a non-patronising way really helped us - we learned so much through process as well as keeping a roof over our heads. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

StepChange helped me when I was at the lowest ebb of...

StepChange helped me when I was at the lowest ebb of my life. The advisor I first spoke with was efficient but kind and delivered some hope that there was a way out of the financial crisis I was in. There is still work for the customer; Stepchange didn’t help when I was dealing with a particularly unhelpful company and I had to deal with all that myself.
