Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I had sleepless nights worrying about our debts.

I had sleepless nights worrying about our debts. I spoke to step change and after discussing our options and weight lifted. The betters letters stopped and a DMP was set up. All interest charges stopped and we started paying a monthly affordable payment lan. This is reviewed annually and adjusted accordingly Reviewed on: 27th May 2026

I don't know where I would be without Step...

I don't know where I would be right now without Step change. I've been on a Debt Management Plan with them for a few years now, before you judge- several circumstances contributed to me finding myself in a position where I was literally drowning in debt. Step change were the lifeline I didn't know I needed, they have helped me immensely and I know I will eventually pay back all I have borrowed with their support. I have spoken with their agents on many occasions and have always come off a call feeling respected, understood and supported. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026

Just one phone call to Step Change and they explained all my options to me thoroughly and dealt with everything on my behalf and after that one phone call I cannot explain how all the worry and the relief of my situation was just taken away, they are always there at the end of the phone to help and provide the best advise. Lifesavers

Since first reaching out to stepchange, they have been AMAZING. Really supported me and taken so much pressure off me. I felt like I was drowning with my debt but through their support they have relieved this and I can finally see the light and a day in the not to distance future I will be debt free.
