Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

StepChange saved my life. From the first moment I picked up the phone to them, right the way through to making my final payment on my debt management plan (a little over four years later) the team are all committed to helping people get on top of their finances. When I started with step change I was so worried about how I will be able to manage all the debts I had. The interest rates were getting high. Step change gave me a piece of mind. I didn’t have to worry anymore. They managed to work out how much I can afford. And am glad that I am coming to the end of all my debts. Will kind of miss you guys you had become part of my family. Bad debts
