Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

StepChange have changed my life and I couldn't be more grateful for the service they've offered. Because of them I am able to pay my debts without drowning in rising interest whilst balancing my monthly bills, expenses and a little on top to still enjoy life. The interface is really smart and easy to use so I love checking my monthly statements to see my balance being paid off. The team are always so helpful and judgement free which makes a huge difference. I couldn't recommend them more (and do, frequently!). Reviewed on: 6th June 2025

I was in a mess!

I was in a mess! Stepchange have assisted me to sort that mess. I have no longer sleepless nights worrying about the challenges of my debts. My partner worrying that I can not cope financially. I have been diagnosed with a neurodivere set of conditions. I used to worry everytime I got paid about how would I deal with the calls. I also used to worry about my payments not being enough. I now am in the knowledge they are being sorted. I also have not anymore the calls, threatening letters and grief that I used to have. I now just pay what I need too and know there is pain but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Absolute god sent

I had 7 years worth of Dept to pay off now.. step change help me keep up the ability to pay and see it to the very end without missing a single payment.
