Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

They saved my life 18 years ago when I was in dire straits with bailiffs harassing me. Since then stepchsnge has continued to hand hold me through the process, and enabled me to pay back my debts without living in poverty. They are absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! Reviewed on: 2nd May 2024

When I did know what to do or where to turn when my finances took a turn for the worse, I found Stepchange and they not only reassured me they could help, they helped turn my worries around and give me my life back and the team are so supportive and friendly and you can really talk to them without the fear of judgement. Light at the end of the tunnel

I was in the pits of depression over the debts I had accumulated and thank God for the help I received from Step Change. Clearing off the debts lifted a tremendous weight from my mind and left me feeling proud that I had actually achieved something at the age of 73 years of age. Redundancy and credit card debt.
