Be brave and ring Step Change

I was at my wits end with worry about my credit card debt, especially as my income is just State Pension and Pension Credit. After reading up about available help, I kept putting off phoning Step Change for months because I was so ashamed of my situation. When I finally plucked up the courage it was nothing like I had imagined. The gentleman I spoke to was completely non-judgemental and in a calm, pleasant way helped me to work out a budget I could manage whilst gradually paying off my credit card. It was such a relief that the bank then stopped my monthly interest payment as well. Step Change were the best thing to happen to me and I would recommend them to anybody who needs help with their finances at this difficult time. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Stepchange helped me when covid hit

I was made redundant just before covid hit, and I got a new job on the day the first covid lockdown was announced. So due to that I had no payments coming in and stepchange helped me sort out my payments and got me back on track. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
