Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Highly recommended. Saved me from spiralling!

4 years ago I was left heavily in debt by my ex partner. I didn’t know what to do so contacted Stepchange. They were great and helped me deal with it and stopped me spiralling further. Superheroes without a cape!

When I first rang StepChange I was in a very bad financial position with a range of debts hanging over my head. I didn’t know how to deal with the mounting charges and interest charges being added to my debts . StepChange explained how they could help me become debt free, of course I was in! My debt management plan has been adjusted throughout to accommodate any financial changes and of course when one of the debtors is paid fully. When I lost my job during Covid, I rang StepChange worried, but they immediately settled any worries and talked me through my options. I would 100% recommend StepChange to anyone who is having trouble keeping up with their debtors payments and can’t see a way out, StepChange are like the superheroes in my story but without a cape! Great service

I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders! They helped me create a monthly budget and a single payment towards my credit cards and loans.
