Stepchange saved my life.

Stepchange changed my life when I was desperate with all my debts from overspending. They contacted all the companies and agreed a monthly payment. I am close now to being debt free and I have been able to have s good life. Do not hesitate to contact them as they are never judgmental and only want to help. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Amazing, so helpful and non judgmental. It is like having a massive weight lifted. Everyone has a story and a reason why they are in the hole and you gain the help and support to get out and back on track. Not to sound too over the top but it feels life saving! Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Pulling out of the wilderness

I had it all success, money, friends and it was swiped from under me overnight this was extended due to my complacency in the oil and gas sector before the collapse. I used all my savings, cashed in ISAs (which had also collapsed) and took pension moneys to pay the mortgage and bills. This eventually runs out and I had no one to turn to and help me out until I was recommended to seek advice from Stepchange, who guided me into a suitable payment programme which I have been continuing to help me recover, its slow going and I really cant thank Stepchange enough for their help, friendliness, guidance and knowledge of my situation. HOPE BEYOND

I WAS IN A TERRIBLE BLACK HOLE OF DEBT AND DEPRESSION.I WASN'T THINKING STRAIGHT,COULDN'T SLEEP AND WAS SPIRALLING INTO DISPAIR.I WAS HIDING ALL OF THIS FROM MY FAMILY.STEPCHANGE WAS A LIFEJACKET,I WAS TREATED WITH UNDERSTANDING AND WAS NOT MADE TO FEEL EMBARRASSED.A PLAN WAS DEVISED FOR ME WHICH I HAVE STUCK TO.FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MANY YEARS I WAS ABLE TO FOCUS ON OTHER THINGS.THE PRESSURE WAS OFF,OR AT LEAST MANAGEABLE AND THERE IS A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL.ANYONE IN THIS SITUATION I WOULD ADVISE TO REACH OUT TO STEPCHANGE AND ASK FOR HELP,DON'T SUFFER,THERE IS HOPE.
