Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Take the step to change your life.

Everyone I spoke to were calm, understanding and reassuring - particularly appreciated as I was going through a major life event at the time. Every step was clearly explained and they have been on hand since to help with follow up queries and difficult problems. A Relief to have someone else deal with my creditors.

Difficult to get initial contact by phone, but once registered have been very helpful. Developing budget was useful & once payment plan set up, Creditors left me alone. A relief to see a plan in place & to see debt reducing all be it slowly Reviewed on: 28th May 2025
