You can open a Tembo cash lifetime ISA or a stocks and shares lifetime ISA by downloading the app and depositing a minimum of £1.

Tembo doesn’t charge monthly subscription fees for the lifetime ISAs, but there is an annual platform fee for the stocks and shares lifetime ISA.

I’ve had a great experience with Tembo. Their app is really clear and easy to use. Their customer service is really responsive and has a personal touch. They have a great community for first-time buyers and run webinars etc which helps prepare for using the Lifetime ISA in future. Reviewed on: 3rd February 2026

Always updating their app to improve and have great communication regarding services, the property market and legislation making it super easy to stay in the loop as I save to buy my first home. Tembo is great

I originally had my money on a stocks and shares ISA with another provider, but I needed the security of my money not being able to decrease as I was buying a property alone. The process to move my money was really easy on Tembo's side and they helped me chase up my old provider who were definitely a lot more awkward and old fashioned when it came to dealing with everything. My money being with Tembo made me feel a lot more secure with it's value, and it had the best interest rate at the time of transferring. They also offer a free mortgage broker service for members, and I also will receive a bonus on completion which I know I will appreciate when I move. I have found everyone very nice and helpful, and they have been willing to explain everything to me in really simple terms. I have also appreciated the fact that they have taken into consideration my preferred form of communication - which is email, and don't force telephone conversations on me unless absolutely necessary for the task at hand. Tembo helped me say for a deposit for my first house. The app is really really easy to use, with lots of visual prompts that really make it clear and easy to see your progress when the moment came to buy my house. Tembo were really helpful. They were my mortgage broker as well as my bank. Their communication was spot-on throughout and when if ever I had any queries they were there with the answer straightaway.
