5% interest on my balance, low monthly pay-in and a 5% linked savings account

TSB's online banking offering is excellent, I especially like the mobile app. They pay 5% AER on my balance up to £2000 and I was pleased to see that they offered a linked regular savings account a few months ago too. Reviewed on: 29th August 2015

A great account to earn high interest

If you are looking to earn a good rate of interest and have some spare cash I can thoroughly recommend this account. Basically you can get 5% interest on balances of up to £2000. No interest is paid on any amount over the £2000. You have to pay into the account £500 a month but it doesn't have to stay in the account you can transfer it out of the account again the next day if you wish. good interest

5% on a current account and you can also open a monthly saver which pays 5%. i use it for savings rather than a proper current account as they don't insist on any direct debits Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

poor service from this bank

opened a TSB Classic Plus Account to benefit from the great rate of interest(5% gross) offered on £2000 balance,however this was anything but straight forward! anybody working in a 09.00-17.00 hrs job Mon-Fri would find it almost impossible to produce evidence of identity with our local branch closing at 16.00 hrs Mon-Fri and being closed all day Sat/Sun as well!!! FEES ARE BIZARRE

This account is over rated, i have had my account with tsb for over 6 months, i use it for my salary to be paid in and for my bills to be paid by direct debit I often pay for online orders via my debit card linked to my Tsb account and i have noticed that the payment leaves my account and several days later the money shows as available in my account again, it is very confusing knowing what money is safe to spend and what it not often i have been over drawn because i have spent the available funds that were not really available for orders that i thought were already paid.
