Great little local building society that still puts...

Great little local building society that still puts customer service at the heart of what it does. You actually get to speak to a person rather than a bot!!! Reviewed on: 14th February 2025

Long distance support - fantastic support.

I took over my mum’s finances in 2018 using a LP of A. The Poynton and Stockport branches have been of considerable support throughout. My mum sadly died at the end of 2024 and again the customer support has been fantastic. Knowledgeable and friendly all staff have given me support when I was floundering. I have nothing but praise for your staff and the experience they have afforded myself and my family. Thanks to all - special shout out to Steve in Poynton and Iain at the Stockport branch. Vernon Building Society

Vernon are easy to use and offer some good savings products. The only issue is they prevaricate over whether to be ‘locals only’ or to allow investors from the whole country. The same savings account can switch over its life - although once a ‘non-local’ is in they stay in that account. But they might not be allowed into other accounts. Reviewed on: 31st January 2025
