We always receive a warm welcome at St Petersgate

We always receive a warm welcome when we go into our branch on St Perersgate Stockport. We have had an account for decades and they’ve always been very helpful and supportive - providing sound advice at all times. We aren’t as comfortable discussing our finances though now it’s so very open plan - a little of a set back for us as “offices with a door” are preferable and an open ceiling feels industrial. A design issue - not asked them, but would sense that staff were not consulted first. Reviewed on: 20th January 2026

An average building society

Easy to open and manage account. The interest rates are low though. Better rates are reserved for locals. It is difficult to increase the customer base this way. Reviewed on: 18th January 2026
