Interest rates could be higher

I have been saving with Vernon for a long time, I actually like having to go into a branch to move my money, makes it harder to spend frivolously. However, to get the best savings rate does require more effort as a result. Reviewed on: 21st January 2026

We always receive a warm welcome at St Petersgate

We always receive a warm welcome when we go into our branch on St Perersgate Stockport. We have had an account for decades and they’ve always been very helpful and supportive - providing sound advice at all times. We aren’t as comfortable discussing our finances though now it’s so very open plan - a little of a set back for us as “offices with a door” are preferable and an open ceiling feels industrial. A design issue - not asked them, but would sense that staff were not consulted first. Reviewed on: 20th January 2026
