AVOID!!!!!

DIP 14th May 2024 Declined 25th July 2024 Property is in Scotland, home report and valuation provided before DIP. Vida wouldn’t accept valuation report even though RISC approved. We paid £195 application fee and then a further £340 to Vida for another valuation. To find out we couldn’t get a mortgage due to valuation report even though the report was identical to the 1st valuation. Why not say we can’t have a mortgage at the beginning based on the details being provided about the servitudes (reason for refusal) AVOID Vida Home loans it’s a way to get your money and cause unnecessary stress. Extortionate - ripoff company

1
Wow just look at all the negative reviews. Almost 50:50 for good and bad (most likely the 50% good reviews are from relatives and friends of people who work at this rip off company). I had a mortgage deal (sourced by another useless company called KEY MORTGAGE ADVICE in Preston and Southport, whom I also recommend NOT using ) which resulted in £800pcm over 5 years rather than £400pcm and a penalty payment of approx.£8000 if you wished to be released early). At the time, I was in a rush and told that this was the best deal so I reluctantly agreed (although I have an excellent job and excellent credit history). This company are ludicrously expensive and my mortgage advisors since (3 to be exact) were horrified that this was such a poor deal especially as the interest rates were so low at the time. I could have had a capital repayment for cheaper and paid off some of the capital throughout the 5 year period). DO NOT USE this ROGUE company. I hope people read these reviews and have the sense not to use them - they shouldn't be in business. I have used a different name for review purposes. Reviewed on: 4th August 2022

unplasant and uneccesary

1
I have many mortgages spread over many borrowers over many years so it's the voice of experience here. Vida are difficult to deal with and are quick to make uneccesary threats. I suspect a robotic system churns out the onerous posts and it can be unplasant. In my case they did not respond to a mandate they wished to set up which led to the usual boring threats of turning your business into toast. The law is partly to blame giving the power to these incompetant borrowers to use the credit referance agencies as a bludgeoning tool to extract monies rather than look into it first, or more likely chose not to look into it. Be careful with this borrower and allow lots of time. They can be difficult. Reviewed on: 5th February 2022

I would not recommend!

1
I’ve had a terrible experience with Vida- they are incredibly unresponsive, we were told we could request for an exception to getting the valuation report as our property was down valued by 85k! We waited for two weeks after sending in the rationale and our request but heard nothing! Just kept getting told we will get a response soon! Everyone was totally uncooperative and rude and it’s just been a terrible experience, we are still waiting and since we put a deposit of 5k down on the property we need the report to get that money back! I would appreciate it someone could get back to us on this Reviewed on: 31st January 2022

I wouldn't give this company any stars and I'm amazed that they have not been investigated. I am currently seeking advice from the Financial Ombudsman with regard to my application.... Reviewed on: 17th September 2021

Over and Above

I honestly could not fault VIDA at all. Yes, it probably took a little bit longer than most, but what do you expect when you are going to a specialist lender The communication I had with them and my broker had with them was over and above what I expected. I could not fault the customer service that I received from them, we are stupidly happy! Our case went over to appeal in which the senior underwriter and senior members of staff were committed to helping us and needed to know more details. Which when they are lending a large sum of money, they need to do those checked! I will be recommending VIDA to anyone I can if they are in the same situation as we were. Thank you VIDA for making our dream home, a reality. Reviewed on: 6th September 2021

Awful

1
Absolutely complete time wasting company. We submitted an application in September and have had endless hold ups, delays and no communication. Kept asking for additional information even though it was originally supplied and just kept saying we’d have to wait 2 weeks each time for updates. Even got to the point where they instructed the valuation after 3 months as the sellers were getting very frustrated and the survey was done today and now they’ve decided the answer to the mortgage is a no. Not based on the survey as the house is only 5 years old but based on the information we have supplied which they’ve had for weeks. Ridiculous we will now lose the house we’ve been waiting to buy and the whole process has been incredibly stressful. Total waste of time this company. The mortgage we wanted was 1/3 of the price of the house we was buying so they had no risk as the equity was twice as much as the mortgage and our earnings was more than enough to cover the payments which we provided evidence of numerous times so there is no logic in why they’ve turned down the mortgage. My advice is don’t waste any time with this company they will leave you hanging for months with endless reasons and then say no in the end. Reviewed on: 20th November 2020

Extremely high interest rates

1
We had a 2 year fixed rate mortgage with Vida which expired in June. We asked whether we could switch products but they informed us that they did not have any products, hence we have been paying their SVR which is over 6% I have checked their website and although they have new mortgage rates they will not allow us to remortgage as these products are only for new customers. ( Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we are finding lenders extremely cautious, hence we are stuck with Vida) This is day light robbery. I would never recommend Vida to anyone. Please stay away. You will be disappointed. Reviewed on: 9th October 2020

Very very very poor

Greedy crooks Hi I been with Vida for over 2 years Hi I been with Vida for over 2 years , I not happy with service . Further to this my Vida product has ended , I tried to do a product change for 9 months , calling asking for change. But they said no product changes at the moment The lack of product change ,this has put me in a difficult situation , because of the virus I was unable to Work self employed with 4 children I understand the mortgage terms conditions , but because of the virus it affected my financials. If there was no virus I would not be writing this review .Vida should respect the customer and not be so greedy and do a product change as the interest rate is at a very low and I’m paying 6.14 after product change finished. Further to this I have to pay £1000 more on my monthly payments. There must be other people in the same situation Because of Vida I await for Vida reponse to this Situation. I trying to get a new mortgage it’s very difficult because of the Economic situation at the moment. It be better for me Vida to help customers in there time of need and not take advantage of the situations , if you don’t change your policy of product Change you will put many customers in a bad situation. Further to this Vida took 8,000 in application fees for a 2 year product also, lookIng at the review I’m not the only person in the situation See title crooks below this is a copy of another Vida customer in the same situation Crooks Crooks, simple as that. I paid them £8000 in fees two years ago for a 2-yr fix at 3.14%. Now that is coming to an end, they are jacking it up to 6.64% variable and say they are not offering fixed-rate products to existing customers. Thus my repayments will jump £1,000 a month or so. Anyone out there thinking of taking a mortgage with these guys should think again. They are rip-off merchants!!! Thank you Reviewed on: 21st June 2020
