Review of the Wise Driving, Car Insurance:

Defrauded without card payment consent

Nonsensical Insurance Company, fraudulently charged my card for the renewal in the broad daylight after my first insurance year ended and I was never going to use them again. Worse - theirs contact centre is based in India, so Computer Says Know is modus operandi when dealing with them. Worse more - if you contact them and say 'hey you was wrong you should have cancelled on day one', then reply as if from another galaxy after 14 days expire to tell You 'You are out of 14 days cooling period' so Mr/Mrs you are ought to pay full on. Worse more - the complaint manager is useless, they want to do the lipservice they do all fine when it is written on the forehead the basic premium refund calculation is High School Year 5 maths error. Absolute scam

My daughter took out her first insurance cover with this scam of a company. She paid up front for a years cover. When the insurance premium came to an end she decided to shop around and got a better deal. She had emails from Wisedrive informing her that the policy had cancelled as they couldn't tale the £700 they were attempting to take for a renewal. They then sent her messages stating she owed them £85 for cancellation costs. (Bearing in mind there is legally a 14 day cooling off period, and the fact she had taken out insurance elsewhere, this is an invalid charge). They then sent another message stating she now owes £170! I just phoned them to state she doesn't owe them a penny, they will not get a penny as her car has been fully insured with a new provider. Apparently if we send them the cover letter for the new insurer they will then review this and advise what costs are outstanding.... how about a big fat £0 you will not be getting a penny - i will see you in court - bunch of theaving @@@@@@ - i advise anyone to steer clear of these muppets! Terrible Customer Care!!!

I've been trying for 3 months to cancel my insurance policy and every number and email I've tried leads to a dead end! Wise Driving is the most shambolic company I've ever had the misfortune to deal with!! Reviewed on: 13th October 2022

Horrendous company.. Stay away

Cancelled my sons policy via email, bearing in mind they had emailed in previous months and when we spoke to them they told us just to ignore it and the policy was fine. My son has no choice but to find another provider now but seeing as ‘Wise’ cancelled his policy he has to declare it and it takes his cost from £800 to £2000!! How is a student supposed to cover that increase because of there faulty black box?!! Plus I’m still waiting for my refund that was supposed to have been sent 2 week ago too!! How do they get away with this?! Reviewed on: 11th October 2022

Scammers and fraudsters

We took out a policy for my son when he passed his test, which included a black box. Lots of issues with the one which they sent so eventually after them telling us they would cancel the policy as the black box wasn’t working, they sent us a new one. Errrm THEY sent us a black box that didn’t work and that’s OUR fault..?? Anyway similar things happened again, them sending a letter saying it’s not working yet it obviously was coz the app was showing his driving scores etc. they said they would cancel it again. After ringing on and off for days we eventually got through after being on hold for nearly an hour for them to say ‘ignore the letter we send them out all the time, we can see it’s working just ignore it and any other letters you get sent.’ Very odd indeed. Well it happened again and again and when we phoned.. got told the same thing. The time we didn’t ring them, the policy is cancelled. We’ve lost a whole years no claims and the rest of the £400 of the policy paid up front. Now when he tries to get a new insurance no one touches him because he has had a policy which has been cancelled even though it was through no fault of his own. Outrageous!! Where do I go from here … he’s a student, needs his car for college and work and can’t get a car insurance for less than £2000 because of This rubbish company!!! HELP Reviewed on: 11th October 2022

Don't be fooled by the cheap price, even if you're a good driver, it still goes up.

I've tried so hard to see the silver lining with this company, chance after chance, but the negative reviews has been all that i've seen of the company, bar maybe 2 advisers, and even those two gave me incorrect information. I want to change this review, i really do. The company's model has so much potential but without competent, consistently trained & polite staff its doomed to continue to receive 1 star reviews. 20min + wait times on the phones Chats the log you out without warning Facebook which don't reply to you. Emails that aren't responded to for weeks. Its not good enough guys. On top of that, threatening people with insurance cancellations then not allowing them easy access to talk to you is highly unfair and the fact there's an admin charge of £35 each time you call to adjust something because nobody responds to the other modes of contact is criminal. Responding to this and saying "we take on your feedback" but then doing nothing (which based on these reviews is clearly the case) is simply gas lighting. You either care for your customers/ staff or you don't , but don't pretend to , because so far what i've seen is a company able to market themselves well but not deliver the service they promised. Scammers unbelievable how this company is still running and scamming people out of their hard earned money. Never answers the phone and I finally got through to a lady after waiting for 60+ minutes only to get threatened. Extra charges come out of nowhere, similar to a lot of people here. How do we take this company down??? Reviewed on: 30th August 2022

Awful car insurance company

This company does not even deserve a 1 star. Staff on the phone tell you completely different information than the email being sent out. Out of nowhere my policy was cancelled - less than a week of notice. Black box broke - was dealing and I am still dealing with this for the past 2 months. Awful car insurance company! - No response to emails, even after follow ups weekly! - Long call waiting times (gave up after 45mins.) - Black box a waste of money. - Renewal after a year £500+ even with 82% driving record (black box) and over 30 years of driving experience - Absolutely horrendous stories on forums about WiseDriving - Make sure u cancel auto renewal by email + phone as soon as you take out insuranace, as their website/s are designed not to help you. New insurance company £266! With only 1 years no claims (as I was abroad for 28 years) Reviewed on: 13th July 2022
