Awful service

Son took out insurance online. Got an email saying they needed extra docs by a certain date,which son sent. Only realised they had cancelled his policy when he saw he had extra money in his bank. No communication of ANY kind telling him what they had done. Lucky he was off for a few days. He could have been done for no insurance and he needs a clean license. Simple txt or email to let him know before they sent the refund and it could have been all sorted. Absolutely useless. Reviewed on: 3rd May 2022

Cheap and cheerful

Simple and easy to use

Avoid this company, they lie and scam.

The company tend to be the cheapest but go on to make their money by trying to scam newly registered customers. They will send an email asking for scans of license etc. to double check dates. They will then insist what you entered is incorrect, change it on your policy without asking, and charge you for it. DOUBLE CHECK on you policy data - they will try and do this even if you enter the correct info, in the hope that you don't push back. I made sure my dates were correct and they still lied. Thankfully I had the evidence. They also rely upon people coming in from comparison sites, where the exact date you passed your test isn't entered. It will default to the 1st of the month on their system, so if you don't manually change it on their own website, they will charge you for providing wrong info. This isn't a one off, I was with the company several years ago and the exact same thing happened. Of course I decided to go for them again as they were cheaper, and I didn't learn my lesson!! Absolutely avoid. Rather pay an extra £100 than go through the stress of dealing with this terrible company. Reviewed on: 3rd August 2020

Good valuve for money

Policy not activated paid in full

Paid for policy in January for full year about 3 weeks before policy start date. 5 months later police pull me and say car has no insurance. Police gave me my rights and impounded my car. Spent nearly 3 days on phone constantly trying to get 1st central to sort it. Said they had no proof of payment kept getting fobbed off. Eventually get through to manager who admits it's their fault sends me cover letter. Took proof to police who rang them and they said they have no record of me being insured with them. So back on phone to them arguing with them to sort it out. Seriously avoid if you can ! Reviewed on: 30th July 2020

Easy to deal with

sadly I had a car accident and had to use my insurance, I have nothing but praise for 1st choice, they were friendly, knowledgeable and above all else, listened to me rant about the accident. 10/10 service, my car was fixed very quickly and I didnt have the stress of not knowing what was happening as I was kept very well informed Reviewed on: 27th July 2020
