Decided to sign up to online with the Chorley because of lock down. It was very straight forward and easy to understand considering doing online banking is new to me. I was sent an ID number through the post and went into my Chorley accounts but I couldn’t see a log out notice which the letter accompanying my ID number said to do but it would log me out after 5 minutes automatically if I wasn’t using the inline service. I found this to be a long time to wait and would have thought probably a couple of minutes would have been enough wait. I rang the next day and spoke to a lovely lady Called Joyce Haywood who was working from home because of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, she was very helpful and asked if there was a menu option which there was so I clicked on it and low and behold was the option to log off. So I feel much happier now that I can log straight out. Thanks for your help Joyce. Reviewed on: 5th June 2020

Friendly staff

Chorley building society is run like banks/building societies used to be run. The staff are very helpful and friendly and they will spend time explaining things when needed. They are not constantly pushing for everything to be done online like the banks do. As I get older more companies seem to offer algorithm like almost robotic customer service. I was pleasantly surprised with Chorley that it was not like this with a personable and helpful customer service. Reviewed on: 2nd March 2023

Interest rates are low and there are no bonds on offer or longer term accounts with better interest rates. Very good customer service, small and personal service, but the need is there for incentinves to save for a longer fixed rate term. Reviewed on: 1st March 2023
