Decided to sign up to online with the Chorley because of lock down. It was very straight forward and easy to understand considering doing online banking is new to me. I was sent an ID number through the post and went into my Chorley accounts but I couldn’t see a log out notice which the letter accompanying my ID number said to do but it would log me out after 5 minutes automatically if I wasn’t using the inline service. I found this to be a long time to wait and would have thought probably a couple of minutes would have been enough wait. I rang the next day and spoke to a lovely lady Called Joyce Haywood who was working from home because of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, she was very helpful and asked if there was a menu option which there was so I clicked on it and low and behold was the option to log off. I find the staff at my local Chorley Building Society very helpful. There is a nice atmosphere when entering the bank and there are no long queues waiting to be served. My local branch offer, what I feel, is a very personal service. Most banks nowadays have very few cashiers to hand; the staff tend to be walking round helping customers, so there is no privacy. Chorley Building Society caters for all needs; the interest rates are very competitive and I like the idea that I have a pass book instead of a plastic debit card. The Chorley Building Society are excellent in all respects. The staff are friendly, polite and knowledgeable. When I last visited Chorley Building Society I was very impressed with the cashier who dealt with me. She explained a lot ab out savings accounts and without any pressure on me told me about an account which would give me a better interest. The cashier was very knowledgable and extremely helpful. Knowledgeable helpful efficient and quick

I needed to open a bank account for my Dads pension to go in as he had had a stroke and was hospitalised he couldn’t open one himself He didn’t have a driving licence or passport as his wife who had dementia had destroyed them so he couldn’t leave her - I had applied for power of attorney but it hadn’t come through I went to every national bank and building society in Chorley to be told they couldn’t help Santander pointed me to Chorley Building Society who listened to my problem advised me in a language I understood not banking language and together we opened an account for my Dad I was so relieved I had help. When Dad died in Feb 2020 they once again guided me through paying for the funeral and his outstanding care contributions and what I needed to do next step by step to close the account - I can truly say Chorley Building Society staff were fantastic in what was an awful period in my life.
