Poor service and no call backs

I have been trying to resolve an issue with the AA for two days. I purchased a new car and asked the AA to arrange cover on the car. I was going from an Astra GTC to a standard Astra Elite so you would think that was easy but no. I was told at first that the agent could not complete the transfer due to systems issues and would call me back. I never received a call and when I called them I was told that the insurer would not be able to insure the new car, no reason as to why other than its not a car they cover so why I wonder was I currently insured by then on the same make of car? I am still awaiting a call back absolutely diabolical service. As I write this I have been on hold for 30 minutes to speak to the com[plaints department. Reviewed on: 14th March 2018

Complaint was NOT resolved by AA

Eventually my bank resolved the problem by refunding me and putting the onus on the AA. They didn't like it at all. Tough. My opinion of them remains the same Reviewed on: 13th March 2018

Car insurance Robbers

I recently took out car insurance. A deposit was taken which is fine. I called to cancel my policy within the 14 day cooling off period to be advised there would be an outstanding balance to pay. How can there be a balance to pay when I have already paid a deposit and then cancelled within 14 day's. I then look at my bank account and a transaction by AA has been taken out of my original payment card. This was the first time I have used this company and will be the last. Complete robbery... address wrong

After a bad experience on the phone, when they charged me extra for correcting their mistake in describing my profession, they sent an amended certificate of insurance, with my address wrong; not only wrong, but impossible. It only got to me by the postcode. Reviewed on: 21st November 2017

bad experience with phone operative taking details

I phoned to arrange car insurance, simply because they offer 10% off as i had taken their house insurance { that was REALLY bad too, but i didnt know at the time!] and the man on the phone took a really long time going through all the questions....I am an artist, so every second is a brushstroke not done......when he asked about my work [ I am 73] i said 'painter, and part time art tutor ,as artists tend to describe their work as , eg painting, sculpture, printmaking, etc.....so when the documents arrived yesterday, ,it said that i was a painter/decorator. I was mildly amused, and phoned to correct it. they said that that would be an additional £51 !!!I got that down to £26 or so...BUT, it was their fault, and how on earth could an artist, painting at home,cost them more Reviewed on: 15th November 2017

I have been with the AA for many years and every year they have given me a better offer than the year before or have given me a price that I can afford. They have an excellent customer service, many offers and I wouldn't go with any other insurance company. Reviewed on: 30th September 2017

Rip off

I have just had a new quote with the AA and they wanted 850.00 pounds for the banger I drive worth 200.00 I am not paying that they mislead people avoid. Reviewed on: 23rd September 2017

Never choose AA car insurance

Diabolical company for car insurance. Started AA car insurance policy and sent off previous no claims proof - they came back with "Please be advised before we can accept your no claims bonus we need to know what has happened to vehicle !!!! The expiry date on your no claims bonus proof is 11/07/2017, and your policy started with us on 25/05/2017. Please provide a brief explanation for this. - hadn't even got the correct policy number etc. Had an non fault accident 2 months later - dealt with it ok on day 1 - from then on diabolical service. Vehicle was written off and figure agreed - said it would take 3-5 working days to credit bank. 3-5 working days rang and was told another 3-5 working days - each time we rang was told a different story. on 31.8.17 rang with query on when we eventually get another vehicle would we be charge - was told that provided it was the same vehicle it is was within 30 days of vehicle payout no extra charges would be incurred. 23.9.17 rang with exactly same vehicle and they stuck £62 on policy - I had logged conversation on 31.8.17 and stated this to them. Off they went to find the recording and came back it had conveniently been lost. So a customer gets insurance and is inconvenienced when someone pulls out and writes your car off and they see it as an opportunity to get some extra money out of you - absolutely disgusting company - don't ever go with them.
