Poor claims handling

My wife's car was hit by a lorry on a roundabout. The haulage company denied any knowledge, then admitted involvement but denied liability as there were no witnesses. AA insurance refused to pursue and agreed 50/50 liability with the third party. £150 excess and £100 pa increase in premiums! Reviewed on: 20th September 2017

You can't go wrong

Reliable but very expensive

I've stayed with AA insurance as it's a name I know and feel secure with but they are more expensive than competitors and have always sent whopping renewal quotes. When I have the time to call and query it is suddenly reduced significantly. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2017

Disasterous insurer

Rubbish!

I had a slight knock last summer whilst on holiday. My car was the worst off and I removed the scratches myself with some polish and a bit of elbow grease. I spoke to the AA who I was with at the time as I was concerned that the other party might put in a large claim for what was just a few scratches and given that their car was only worth around £275, I didn't want that to happen. They assured me that it wouldn't happen but it did. They paid out over £1000 for a few scratches on a car worth £250! Result - I left the AA and found myself a new insurer. Competitive & Comprehensive

The AA, your answer to Admirable, Absolutely ace company!

I recently renewed my house and car insurance. The AA's web site was very easy to use, very competitive price wise, in actual fact, came out the cheapest in comparison to other leading companies I contacted. Very Good Value

I found the AA insurance using CompareTheMarket and have been mightily impressed with the level of cover I got for the size of premium. Really helpful and friendly staff whenever I've contacted them too, with the inevitable but reasonable admin charge when changing address. I've not had to claim and hope not to, but they seem pretty helpful. Reviewed on: 4th July 2017
