About this product

Aegon offered a Retiready Pension which was withdrawn for new customers from December 2023. For existing customers, it has a maximum service charge of 0.5% per year.

Do not use

I have lost £12,000 off my £33,000 pension, I am in a low rick and when I asked why such a big amount has been wiped off my pension they just said pensions go down as well as up. No interaction from them what so ever, Reviewed on: 7th February 2023

Where has over one third of my investment GONE, AEGON?

My pension pot was with Scottish Equitable, now Aegon. From 2017 to 2020 the value increased by almost 18% - excellent! But since then it's dropped by over 35%, mostly over the last 12 months. OK, there's a war going on in Europe, but how could the so-called Fund Manager allow it to crash so badly - especially as it's a supposedly a safe retirement fund with 75% in government bonds and 25% in cash? Can They Do This?

I have a very small pot with these jokers. I just tried to withdraw the full amount ( only £4k) via their website. They say ' as stated in terms & conditions, I have to leave £1k in my pot' Is this legal? Th Reviewed on: 9th January 2023

Loss of 44k in my final year 6 months before retirement

This company are unreal ! I've just got my pension statement from them and to my astonishment I'm 44k down . 3rd Jan 22 was worth £119500 3rd Jan 23 worth £75500 . When i phoned up to find out where my money was and i mentioned that i was under the impression that my funds would be in less risky investments as i was approaching retirement i was told that they are in what are seen to be less risk .. This company need investigating . I have raised a complaint with them with a view to contacting the pensions ombudsman. Reviewed on: 6th January 2023

Any excuse not to pay out so avoid at all costs

10 days! Been almost three months and every excuse not to pay out so now taking legal action to get my money. Overall rating zero stars and obviously would not recommend this company. Lies and evasion all the way! Reviewed on: 4th January 2023

Avoid this pension provider!

Aegon Retiready lost 30+% of value within few months on a "low risk" pension investment inthe very year of my retirement - before the current banking crises. This was due to ignoring my intentions, choosing a wrong product, and not communicating the risks,.I had been told I was invested in a cash funds - this was not the case at all. After a complaint, I had to wait more than 16 weeks, just to get a one-line dimissive statement. Their website is useless; customer service over the phone can give contradictory and misleading information, from different employees. Even the final transfer out did not work, the company made mistakes causing confusiong and further delays. Incredibly poor performance when compared to 2 other pensions providers I have been using who performed well. I recommend to take all your investments out of Aegon to keep them safe.
