I rang to renew my annual gold star travel insurance...

I rang to renew my annual gold star travel insurance excluding cancellation annual multi trip for the quote provided for £408 . 26which indicated20pc reduction.. I asked for a quote to include include cancellation. After going through all my medical information again the quote that I was given then became an astronomical £800 00 plus pounds.I was appalled at the information . I have been a loyal customer to your company and I would have expected a more realistic quote. Your representative was very polite, patient and was obviously delivering your policies t’s and c’s, butI can’t believe that a 100% increase on that policy is fair .This statement reflects my scoring which is very low. I have no alternative but to seek my insurance elsewhere. I will be very interested to hear your reply. Reviewed on: 22nd August 2024
Reply from AllClear Hi Helen Thank you for your review and feedback. I am sorry that you premium increased by that much when getting your renewal quotation. I can confirm that our renewal quotations offer up to 20% off of the base premium. In regards to your increased premium compared to your policy with us last year, your premium is generated by taking into consideration a number of factors such as; age, destination of travel, your medical conditions and the cost of healthcare abroad. We do have regular updates to our medical questions as well as increased medical costs - for certain countries- and this can lead to an increase in the rates which would have affected your premium. Went online to apply for cover. Despite having several health issues, everything was on their menu of issues they would cover. Filled in the form for myself and my wife as a joint policy, got a price straight away which was less than i expected and that was that. Covered for the year! Reviewed on: 22nd August 2024
