Fantastic personal service with purchase. Terrible service with a claim.

I had been with AllClear for years and the service for purchase of Travel Insurance was exemplary on many occasions. The agents were always courteous and helpful. Unfortunately I had to make a claim in December 2022 for a medical emergency on a flight home from Europe. My experience with AllClear claims was shocking, extremely stressful and long drawn out. I had threatening letters from the hospital in Denmark on more than one occasion. I was passed from pillar to post on the phone for many hours. I talked to multiple different companies. One lady told me I was covered then another guy told me I wasn’t. Incredibly worrying and stressful when I in hospital in Denmark and when I finally got home. The claim started in December 2022 and was settled in June 2023 to their satisfaction but not to mine. They quibbled over tiny amounts of money. I’m still not happy but appear to be stuck with their silly, petty rules. AllClear is a disgrace to travel Indurance. Reviewed on: 5th July 2023

Avoid - expensive AND useless

We have had insurance from AllClear for years and have always been pleased about the courteous service we have had over the phone. The insurance is expensive, but we thought it was worth the money for peace of mind. UNTIL, we actually needed to use the insurance. We were in a no fault car accident in October 2022 and had to attend A&E in the USA with my medically complex daughter. Fortunately she was fine and discharged after a few hours, but 8 months later, we are still being chased by the hospital for payment. There is no dispute over what happened - CSA, the company that deals with the claims side has agreed cover - but it is just endless delays from their end. As a comparison, another member of our family was injured in the same accident and had to go to be checked out at hospital too. His insurance that he has through his bank account sorted everything out within a month. Both claims were very similar - straight forward, fairly low in value and undisputed, As for our claim under the AllClear policy the story is very different. It is near impossible to get any information from them. There are number of different companies involved - You will deal with someone completely different than AllClear when you have a claim. Their telephone lines have hours of wait time. If you email them, it will take weeks for them to reply. And even then, we have had replies saying you'll get an update when there is one. We are living under constant stress and anxiety that we'll ultimately get sued for the medical costs, simply because the insurance we bought from AllClear seems to be valueless. Even if all of this gets resolved now, we would have been chasing up and worrying about it all for months. Something we did not expect when we forked out several thousand pounds for a specialist insurance. If you are seeking specialist insurance, the likelihood is that you or a loved one may need expensive medical assistance whilst abroad. AllClear is happy to take your money, but not to provide the service. I would strongly advise you to look else where - we certainly will in the future. Reviewed on: 3rd July 2023

Still waiting for claim to be settled

I was diagnosed with a DBY on 12 March 2023. Made claim through Zurich only to be told claim would be handled by another company still waiting for settlement will not be recommending ALLCLEAR Reviewed on: 28th April 2023

Incompetance

Took out insurance for pre existing condition for my husband for travel to USA. Sadly my husband caught pneumonia whilst there and past away.. 5 months later the US hospital is threatening with Debt collection, even though my son who lives in the US has been dealing with them. I called them today to see what is going on and was told they cannot talk to me because I am not on the policy ??????? I refused to accept that and was later told they sent emails to my son in Sept with no response ——— guess what, they spelled his name wrong on the email so of course it would not reach him.. so now , nearly 6 months later I have to try and deal with it , so much for their statement that 100% of claims are settled within 5 days Really ?… Reviewed on: 2nd November 2022

Really appreciate the service following cancer treatment

NOT TO BE TRUSTED

Paid an extremely high premium, for travel Insurance, only to have it cancelled, 1 month before our trip. There was a slight change of circumstance, which a Medical Consultant wrote, would not affect my wife taking the trip, or posed no greater risk. I asked for a Supervisor of Manager to speak to me to explain the cancellation, but NO ONE WAS AVAILABLE. Reviewed on: 8th September 2022

We took out travel insurance for America and took extra insurance because of America ended up in hospital having an emergency operation trying to claim on the insurance has been a nightmare all clear had it over to a big company and they wash there hands of you every time we ring all clear they say it’s been handed over and we need to deal with them and every letter email phone calls we are doing so don’t waste your money on all clear insurance am discussed how all clear have dealt with it so beware Reviewed on: 11th April 2022
