Bicycle Accident

I had an accident with a bicycle pedal in May when holidaying in Spain. I thought that it would heal quickly and my July/August trip to Finland would not be affected. However, the wound did not heal well and I was still receiving daily treatment in the UK when my departure for Finland came around. I have an annual policy with Avanti and new that I would have to inform them of my situation in spite of making no claims on my travel policy (all my treatment in Spain was taken care of under my European Health Insurance Card - it won't be when Brexit takes place!). My GP confirmed that I was fit to travel to Finland although I would continue to require treatment for the wound (cleaning & dressing). The Avanti customer services representative contacted the insurance underwriters and confirmed that I could continue with the annual travel insurance without any increase in premium, although any claim relating to my Spanish bicycle accident would not be covered. I considered this to be fair. Again my European Health Insurance Card covered me for the treatment that I have been having in Finland (visiting local medical centre on alternate days), and the leg is finally getting better. Great Service and Price

Very easy to set up (and change policy if needed) clear policy wording and friendly telephone staff. Good price too with good choice of level of cover. Thankfully no experience of claims service. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2021

Travel insurance

Due to the pandemic Avanti have been very helpful, we got a year travel insurance as we were going to America to visit family June 2020 but sadly was cancelled so Abvanti postponed it until Xmas 2021 but sadly that wasn’t happening either, so they postponed it to July 2021 and at last we can visit our family in America at Xmas, we have underlying health issues but we are fully covered for them as well! I would recommend Avanti to my friends and family as I feel they have treat us fairly under the extreme circumstances we have all had to face over the last 18months, Good Luck Avanti do hope you win, well deserved if you do!! Best Travel Insurance I have Ever Had

Avanti staff were brilliant when I called them to take out my travel insurance. Everything was so well explained to me, nothing was a bother to them and even while I was away on my travels and I needed a clarification, they called me and took me through everything. Superb deal and great updates

I had to renew my travel insurance last December before traveling to South America and Avanti was offering the best deal. I got 15 months instead of just 12 and also I can stay abroad much longer with their policy which was just the perfect combination for myself and my son. I definitely recommend having it and the fact that I was offered to do a payment plan was also great considering the difficult times we were in. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2021
