Bicycle Accident

I had an accident with a bicycle pedal in May when holidaying in Spain. I thought that it would heal quickly and my July/August trip to Finland would not be affected. However, the wound did not heal well and I was still receiving daily treatment in the UK when my departure for Finland came around. I have an annual policy with Avanti and new that I would have to inform them of my situation in spite of making no claims on my travel policy (all my treatment in Spain was taken care of under my European Health Insurance Card - it won't be when Brexit takes place!). My GP confirmed that I was fit to travel to Finland although I would continue to require treatment for the wound (cleaning & dressing). The Avanti customer services representative contacted the insurance underwriters and confirmed that I could continue with the annual travel insurance without any increase in premium, although any claim relating to my Spanish bicycle accident would not be covered. I considered this to be fair. Again my European Health Insurance Card covered me for the treatment that I have been having in Finland (visiting local medical centre on alternate days), and the leg is finally getting better. Best no nonsense company

From day one I felt safe in Avanti"s capable hands armed with sufficient knowledge of what to do in an emergency in these pandemic times I was able to enjoy my holiday abroad. Will definitely be using again Reviewed on: 18th September 2021

Always helpful

We had to make a claim in January 2020 for two cruises. The claim forms were easy to complete and Avanti responded immediately and the money was quickly sent to the bank. Absolutely excellent service in unfortunate circumstances. We were again accepted and we are now enjoying a cruise on the Queen Elizabeth around the UK. Reviewed on: 18th September 2021

Easy and effective

Needed to renew travel insurance during first wave of COVID. Avanti were first to introduce COVID cover and didn’t ask fortune for it. Easy going customer service, easy to call, any questions quickly answered. Never put a claim with them Reviewed on: 18th September 2021

An insurer with its finger on the pulse

Semi- retired we planned to increase our holidays, and then Covid19 happened with the majority of insurers lacking the foresight to change their cover to match circumstances, especially for 60& travellers, our current policy became worthless. Avanti have been one of the first to offer a clear and flexible offer and taking out our annual policy was very easy and straight forward. Travel insurance is one of the services we pay for hoping it’s never used- but with the confidence that it will support you should the worst happen. Stents declared
