Aviva Signature home insurance replaces damaged items with new ones, or pays for them to be restored, repaired or replaced. Damage due to wear and tear or breakdowns is not covered. Accidental damage is an optional cover.

impossible to make a damage claim because of Aviva's terms

We suffered storm damage last winter, i.e. almost a year ago. Aviva want us to get a full quote for the work before they would process the claim. In order for a company to qive us a quote, they need to erect scaffolding, as that part of the roof is inaccesible any other way. Aviva will not pay up-front for this, we can't afford to pay up-front for scafffolding (cost is over £2,000), so we are stymied. Reviewed on: 13th January 2019

Amazing customer service

I cannot believe the negative comments on here! I had received a renewal for home insurance from Aviva and was puzzled as I wasn't aware I had a policy with them. However I had had a bad accident on 17th Dec and my brain was fuzzy with morphine so I decided to look into it. I could find no paperwork etc for Aviva and appeared to have taken out a policy with another company in May. I phoned to explain this and spoke to an incredibly understanding and sympathetic young lady called Courtney. After listening to my story she offered to see if her manager could give me a refund from May 2018. I was delighted to hear that s/he had agreed and a cheque would be sent! That in itself made me think I would go to Aviva for a quote in May, but there was even more to come. Two days later I received a most beautiful bouquet by hand delivery! What a lovely surprise! And an even greater surprise was that it was sent by Aviva with lots of good wishes. I think they have a customer for life! Reviewed on: 11th January 2019

Can have everything insured and all visible on one page

Aviva Home Insurance

I bought this policy using their online service, which was super easy to use, and the software guided me through the proceedure quickly. I thought the cover was perfect for the price of the policy. There is also an online help line, but I didn't need to use this, as everything was straight forward. Reviewed on: 22nd September 2018
