SCAM

Just rec'd letter saying i was preapproved for a loan at 4.99% to which i would use to consolidate.....the best rate they would give an exceptional credit number is 14.99%......where did the 4.99% go??? ONCE A SCAM ALWAYS A SCAM COMPANY Reviewed on: 19th July 2018

Terrible customer service, withdrew my application

I received a pre-approved offer and decided to take them up on it as it was something I was considering doing for some time. I have a Barclay credit card and have had good experiences with it. After filling on the online form, I was asked to call them back to answer a few more questions. After 30 minutes of being grilled about everything from the last purchase I made to my ex-wife from 12 years ago, I withdrew my application and said it wasn't worth the inquisition! I have decent (740) credit and do not understand the logic for the level of questions being asked. Reviewed on: 2nd July 2018

Scam

I received a letter that I was pre-selected for a personal loan up to $35,000 with interest as low as 4.99%. I applied online and immediately received the response that my application was not approved. What a waste of time and what a scam. Reviewed on: 27th June 2018

Good rate, fast and easy

I submitted the online loan application, received my interest rate, which was very fair and competitive. I was then contacted by phone within 10 minutes of submitting my loan application. After another 5-6 minutes on the phone with follow up questions, the loan was approved. The funds were transferred to my account within 2 hours. I highly recommend Barclays! Sends rejection letter when you decline their offer

I had pre approval and had asked for the amount I wanted. I was approved and sent an email of that approval with links to accept the offer. The offer was significantly less than what I had asked for so I declined their offer. I also received an email from them stating I declined their offer. Yesterday I received a letter from them claiming they declined me! I wouldn't recommend a company that tries to lie to someone about reality. Reviewed on: 3rd June 2018

Fuss free easy lending!

We took out a small personal loan which was paid off monthly over a set amount of time. Easy to set up, no issues along the way and a letter confirming the payment period had finished when we’d paid it all! Reviewed on: 11th February 2018

Rude customer service and sketchy documentation process

Barclays personal loan surely looks like the narcissistic money lenders out there in the market which will send you pre-qualified offers just because you have a strong credit history and then when you finally want to apply because of some emergency, they will take you for a whirlwind tour asking for stupid documents which are not even asked by any other lenders in the market. In the end, they will just decline saying that all the list of documents you have submitted have not met their criterion. Utter humiliation by this bozo lender. It's the worst in the market. Liars

I received a letter stating that I could consolidate my credit card debt at a rate of as low as 4.9 percent, and that I had been pre-approved. When I went to the site and got an estimate on a 48 month loan, the interest rate was 12.9 percent. On a 60 month loan, the interest rate as 9.9 percent. The interest rate listed on the letter was obviously only a ploy to get people to go their site. Reviewed on: 20th January 2018
