We have been customers for many years now and always found the service good and until recently the rates have been favourable. We understand that little can be done about the falling rates of interest in recent years and have confidence that they will offer the best they can. Sometimes we find we have to ring for a tax statement and cannot get one on line which could be improved. The reason I would not recommend them to people is that our friends and family are not in Bath or the area. Reviewed on: 4th June 2020

I am pleased to support a Bath-based organisation and have found for many years that you are always prompt and clear with information. I greatly appreciate the fact that you have a branch in Moorland Road particularly now that I am older and less mobile. The staff there are patient, charming and efficient. Reviewed on: 4th June 2020

Corporate responsibility?

Not impressed with complete lack of corporate governance and the bonuses for a Group Board who have consistently not delivered on bringing this business into the new digital world.. Bonuses must not be given for boardroom mediocrity. Reviewed on: 4th June 2020
Reply from Bath Building Society Thank you for your feedback. Clearly we haven’t done as well as we should have in communicating the improvements we made over the last year or so. We have invested heavily in our IT and IT security which has resulted in us being able to maintain our excellent customer service levels despite the majority of staff now working from home, we have made big improvements to Bath Online which has seen a massive increase in registrations and users, we have added webchat to our website giving our members and business introducers more choice on how to communicate with us, we have already started ‘digital’ projects that will improve our mortgage processing and enable us to open savings accounts via Bath Online and we are also completely overhauling our main website. Added to this we have clearly started working with Smart Money People which is a first step towards us moving away from paper based surveys. Reading our customer reviews gives me great satisfaction that most of our members are very pleased by the service we offer. I know we still have a long way to go but I am proud of what we have delivered and am excited about the transformation projects we have in the pipeline. Kevin Gray, Chief Executive Officer.
