H1 2025 Mortgage Lender Benchmark

The Benchmark is the largest piece of independent lender research carried out in the industry using broker feedback, and provides unique and actionable insight into the UK mortgage market.
The H1 2025 edition, released on 10 June 2025 includes in-depth data and insight from 1,111 brokers, who we asked to leave feedback for the last five lenders they’ve placed cases with. This means that we received over 5,207 individual pieces of feedback from intermediaries, with coverage across 134 UK lenders.
Key findings
Overall satisfaction
Overall satisfaction with mortgage lenders increased by 0.05-points to 4.22 out of 5
Net promoter score
Net Promoter Score (NPS) is up 5.0 points on H2 2024 at +40.9.
Building societies
Building societies are once again the top-rated sector for broker satisfaction, with a Broker Experience Index of 71.5
Mainstream lenders
Mainstream lenders were a close second behind building societies, scoring 71.4
Commercial / bridging
Commercial / bridging lenders were the lowest rated, with a Broker Experience Index of 64.2
