By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

When looking for insurance i came across by Miles. I was pleasantly surprised that i could pay a reduced amount initially and get charged by how many miles i drove in a month. Personally i do not drive more than 5-6000 miles a year so was perfect for my needs. When the small box arrived it was very easy to set up using the phone app, i can see exactly how much each journey is costing me. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Not for everyone

OK for someone who uses their car infrequently or doesn't do many miles in a year. Hike in basic premium after one year somewhat off putting. Any further rises would make continued use unviable. Reviewed on: 4th August 2021
