By Miles provide car insurance aimed at low mileage drivers.

By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Easy and cheap

Fabulous for low mileage drivers

Since the first lockdown in March 2020, I have been working from home. I don't need my car for work anymore and I felt it was unfair to be paying insurance for the car to just sit on the driveway. When I first came across this company via an internet search for "low mileage" I thought the whole thing was too good to be true. Turns out it wasn't. I paid the initial, very low charge, for the non-mileage related cover (fire and theft?). Then there's a charge per mile of approximate 3 pence. As I joined with an introductory offer of £50 worth of free miles, my monthly bills have been covered since March 2021 (now August) and I've still got some credit left. For me, it's made having a car affordable - whereas before when I was paying "normal" insurance I couldn't really justify the expense and I was considering I would have to let the car go. Saved so much using by miles even when i was driving alot thinking oh no im gunna be spending so much when in reality i was still saving! They have a referral option aswell so you get £50 if they join which is great! Reviewed on: 4th August 2021

First of all - great concept - fed up of getting extorted for insurance when I hardly ever drive. As a statistician this never made sense to me. Secondly, I understand that they launched in 2018… how is it that in 2.5 years they have surpassed any previous insurer I’ve ever been with in terms of user and customer experience. My experience has been amazing so far. Such a far cry from frustrating phone centres and dodgy portals on other sites. Wish these guys all the best. Have been telling anyone who’ll listen to check them out on renewal. 10/10 from me! Reviewed on: 4th August 2021

Great for low mileage drivers

I’ve recommended to several friends already, the service and price is unbeaten for me. Living in a city centre prices were extortionate by comparison, even using a private garage both at home and at work. By miles gave a low standard price and then enables me to pay per mile monthly, and log in to see how much my bill would be each month. My only issue is that because the company is underwritten it was slightly confusing to find out who to contact when I had a claim, but the customer service team were helpful and got back to me quickly. It’s the cheapest Car Insurance by far. Paying for what you use. Suits me as I use the car locally most of the time. I’m a very happy customer and so grateful there is a Insurance company like yours available. : ) Reviewed on: 4th August 2021
