By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

By Far the Best Car Insurance during Lockdown

Have been with BY Miles car insurance now for 8 months. By far the best savings I have ever made on car insurance. During lockdown, I have started driving less and makes no sense using a traditional car insurance company. I recommended a friend to join and received a £50 credit balance and for the last 4 months my driving insurance has been free. Brilliant app too. Can highly recommend ! Reviewed on: 1st February 2021

Too expensive

I’ve been driving for many years with no accidents to my name. At the renewal the price of insurance jumped up by double the amount I paid to sign up in the first instance. Unacceptable...I have recommended people and gave them high ratings in every regard. Now it’s clear that they do not feel the same, especially to an honest and loyal customer such as myself. Don't change your vehicle

Everything was going great until I changed my car. I checked with By-miles to make sure they could cover my new car and was told they could so my car purchase went ahead. Once I got the car home I called By-miles to update my policy. Once my new car showed on their system, I was then told that they can't cover my new car so they cancelled my policy and charged me £50.00 cancellation fee. So be warned if you intend to ever change your vehicle to a fully electric one. Reviewed on: 27th October 2020
