By Miles provide car insurance aimed at low mileage drivers.

By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Good way to insure your car

Thank goodness I stumbled across by miles when completing my annual price comparison car insurance check. It is utterly refreshing to find a brand who price insurance in this way. My annual mileage is now well below 3000 and reduced even further by lockdown and self-isolation. What a boon to my finasnces By Miles has been. I pay an annual "parking" insurance charge of around £150 (less than half that I used to pay for a standard policy) and then just over 3p a mile for my car journeys. The service has been good, the tracker gizmo easy to install, and the website which shows me details of all my trips is excellent. Reviewed on: 14th September 2020

I like that it's not a company who encourage you to pay in a lump sum, meaning you need to find a few hundred pounds in one month. The app is also good, shows your previous journeys and the insurance cost of each. I would prefer to not have the black box but they only use the distance data from it and nothing else, so it's not too bad. Reviewed on: 14th September 2020
