By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

You only pay for the miles on the road.

In the lock down it was from March to August my car stayed on the drive until August 4th how much money I saved not being on the road. 100% better than paying for the whole year with any other insurance. Reviewed on: 10th September 2020

Why hasn't someone done this before

I'm not an everyday driver as I no longer work due to poor health and a blue badge holder. The running cost of car ownership were crippling me (no pun intended) but I couldn't be without my own transportation. So when I heard about "by miles" I honestly couldn't believe it and I started looking for the catch, well long story short there simply isn't one and I'm saving money every time I don't drive so at last I'm not being penalised for being a low mileage driver. I can't believe I have only just found out about By Miles car insurance! Ive not long had my policy but so far it's been brilliant!
