By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

I do feel that it is better just having to pay for the insurance by the miles I actually do rather than paying for my car just sitting out on road doing nothing in fact by the end of the year I have estimated that will have saved possibly more £250 because of my low milage Reviewed on: 9th September 2020

Perfect for the social driver and more.

Perfect for a social driver like me. Retired and just uses the car for shopping and visiting friends. Just having to pay for mileage used after an initial down payment is a much fairer idea for social drivers like myself. The company also offers other services too. Great for people who who don't clock up a huge number of miles.

The setup was simple both online and installation of tracker. ,Popped it into the socket of the car without problems. After that it was simple to track our driving and savings in the app. You pay an upfront fixed fee for you car to be stationary for a year followed by monthly bills for how much you actually drive. During lockdown the car didn't move for weeks resulting in 0 costs for a while. I guess we now pay 35-40% of what we used to pay with a conventional car insurance. Very happy.
