By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Paying only for what you use maybe an old fashioned concept but it is fair and makes perfect sense. In an age where owning a car comes with many pricey premiums before you even get behind the wheel and drive anywhere, it is reassuring to have a 21st century company that not only gives you that option but also has a mind for future values for the planet also. Well done By Miles! I was recommended by a happy policy holder and I will pass it on. The fact I was paying twice as much for my car insurance as Bymiles are now charging me would be enough. But the UI is as game changing. For too long insurance has been too confusing and too difficult, Bymiles make it so intuitive and cheap. What more could you ask for! Reviewed on: 9th September 2020

Everything about ByMiles has been excellent - from the money I've saved to the customer service (when I moved house and needed to change my card details) and the great app. It has all been so smooth to deal with and sets the standard for all insurance companies, in my opition! It's especially difficult right now to predict the future

I took out my By Miles policy at the start of lockdown. I couldn't predict my mileage for the year and for many weeks the car never even moved. Now I am using it more, but still not traveling to the office. Why pay for mileage I won't use? I get a push notification at the end of every journey, which has proved handy when my partner's borrowed the car - I can message/call knowing she's not driving any more.
