By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

So flexible and perfect alternative to one size fits all insurance

I've been using my car less and less over the last 18 months, weekends with the kids and the odd evening here and there. Even though I would drop my mileage estimate on my insurance renewal it never really resulted in a much cheaper policy. Now ByMiles has come along its offered me a perfect alternative for light use driving. I'm going to save about 250 a year which is brilliant. Other points, I like having my assurance details available in an app, rather than having to dig a paper version out from under the bed. Reviewed on: 9th September 2020

Best Value for Low Mileage Drivers

I thought there would be a catch. There usually is. But, to be honest, I haven't found one with By Miles so far. The one-off premium for parking is very reasonable considering where I live and the per-mile charge is sensible, making keeping a car for local use much easier on the pocket. Whichever way you cut it, 97p for one month's usage is more than acceptable. Reviewed on: 9th September 2020
